I read a good way to experiment with new potential life changes at Steve Pavlina’s blog. Make it a 30 day trial. 30 days is enough for you to see the affects on your life yet it is short enough that you can commit to doing it and still feel its not permanent. I tried this before and gave up carbonated beverages. It didn’t work for me so I didn’t keep the habit. I plan on trying again with running a few miles every morning. We’ll see how it goes.
Some ideas to try:
- Give up TV
- Finish a book each week
- Write down everything you spend money on
- Give up carbonated beverages or other unhealthy
- Start a daily updated blog
- Buy or make a small gift for your significant other everyday
- Meet and talk with someone new
- Eat lunch with a different person each day
- Grow a beard
- Read a poem
- Study a new topic daily
