Of course you are well aware that being a secret agent is not like James Bond, but do you really know what it is like. Here is a suprisingly well written article about becoming a real secret agent or operations officer, as the CIA calls it.
From sources I can’t divulge, here are some more tips: it would help to have a technical degree or something in foreign affairs. Speaking multiple languages is a huge plus and I’m not talking about Spanish and Italian. Also extensive time spent abroad speaks well for you. If you are really serious about this, then already having a security clearance from a previous job is a nice exclamation point on the resume.
Remember that as a operations officer you might have two jobs, one being a cover. Also, if bragging about your occupation is what your looking for then you won’t be able to as a SECRET agent.
