Does listening to your iPod at work make you more or less productive? The debate that many employers are facing is whether or not to allow iPods in the workplace.

If they have iPods — and more and more people do — many workers are taking their music libraries with them to work. They say it helps them concentrate. Some say it even makes them more creative.
I find that it keeps me thinking with some work, especially repetitive tasks. Whenever I need to read or figure something out, then it is usually better not to have any music. In the article, one employer complains that it distracts, yet he plays music through the office speakers instead. Seems it would have the same effect. Of course there are some other companies that don’t like iPods, but I think they have other reasons.
So how about you? Are you more effective with or without the iPod?
