It is designed to replace Microsoft Office and it is FREE. It is almost 100% compatible with all types of documents. So if someone sends you a Word document (.doc), you can use Open Office to work on the document just like you would with Word. It is a great alternative for the home computer. While your replacing Office, why not replace Windows for free too?
