I came across this very interesting article recently about the benefits of eye contact. The author forced himself to make eye contact with people during the day. It is hard to do so he started out looking at their face, but found that the best results come from looking directly at the pupil and trying to tell what color eyes they have. The results: sales associates were nicer to him, he got discounts on jewelry, and just basically socially conquered everyone he came into contact with. He says that once you have that dominance over people, it is hard to give up so he continues to use eye contact to make people remember him. I plan on putting this in to practice for the month of August.
