Think about the things you never think about, until you need them. Here is a list of some things that is nice to always have handy:
- Umbrella
It is always good to keep a couple of umbrellas strategically placed in your car, laptop bag and by the front door - Cash
I have gotten bad at just carrying credit cards, but some smaller stores or places like parking meters don’t normally take credit. Keep a small stash somewhere. - Eye Drops
For contact wearers especially, keep some eye drops around in case the contact falls out. - Phone Charger
I keep three in different places: a wall charger in the house, a car charger and a usb charger. - Spare key
Still the best way is to give a spare to a trustworthy neighbor, but a car key you may have to get creative. Try hiding a keyless entry remote under the bumper, if you lock your keys in the car you can open the door, but a thief can’t drive off if he finds it cause there’s no key. - Important Numbers
Things such as bank account numbers or your wife and kids social are used to infrequent to memorize, but enough that it is annoying if you don’t have it. There are a lot of programs you can download for your phone to store those numbers safely. - Whatever you use often
Start thinking about what you use often but always forget to keep it with you. I like to keep a bunch of different cables in my laptop bag in case I need to connect any device. That may not apply to you, but you have your own things that frustrate you when they are not accessible.
