If you have a GSM phone (T-Mobile & Cingular), then it should be no problem. If you have CDMA (Verizon & Sprint), then you will have more difficulty.
You can use roaming which is convenient but expensive. Prepaid sim cards or renting a cell phone might be a cheaper option. Then again if you have VoIP, then you really don’t need my help do you.
